چکیده

An issue of considerable importance, both from a practical organizational standpoint and from a costs research perspectives, involves the allocation of /xed resources or costs across a set of competing entities in an equitable manner. Cook and Kress (Eur. J. Oper. Res. 119 (1999) 652) propose a data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach to obtain a theoretical framework for such cost allocation problems. Their approach cannot be used directly to determine a cost allocation among the decision making units (DMUs), but rather to examine existing costing rules for equity. The current paper extends the Cook and Kress (Eur. J. Oper. Res. 119 (1999) 652) approach, and provides a practical approach to the cost allocation problem. It is shown that an equitable cost allocation can be achieved using DEA principles. ? 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A Two-stage DEA Model Considering Shared Inputs, Free Intermediate Measures and Undesirable Outputs

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been proved to be an excellent approach for measuring the performance of decision-making units (DMUs) that use multiple inputs to generate multiple outputs. But the allocation problem of shared inputs and undesirable outputs does not arouse attention in this movement. This paper proposes a two-stage DEA model considering simultaneously the structure of shared...

Fixed cost and resource allocation based on DEA cross-efficiency

In many managerial applications, situations frequently occur when a fixed cost is used in constructing the common platform of an organization, and needs to be shared by all related entities, or decision making units (DMUs). It is of vital importance to allocate such a cost across DMUs where there is competition for resources. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been successfully used in cost an...

An Algorithm for Resource Allocation through the Classification of DMUs

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric method for assessing relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs). Every single decision-maker with the use of inputs produces outputs. These decision-making units will be defined by the production possibility set. Resource allocation to DMUs is one of the concerns of managers since managers can employ the results of this process to a...

تخصیص منصفانه هزینه ثابت داده های مقیاس بازه ای و مقیاس کسری بین واحد های تصمیم گیرنده در تحلیل پوششی داده ها

In recent years, fair allocation of resources or fixed costs in DEA have been noticed by researches, in which the main objective is unchanging efficiency of decision making units, In which the main purpose is to not change the efficiency of decision-making units before and after the allocation of costs. On the other hand, all studies have been due to the fraction-scale data, and any special att...

تخصیص منابع مرکزی براساس کارایی ارزش در DEA و DEA-R

In this article, centralized resource allocation (CRA) models based on the value efficiency in DEA and DEA-R are recommended. In general, if the input and output data of decision-making units are available, DEA models provide targets of units on the efficiency frontier in addition to the efficiency of units. However, if only a ratio of the input data to output data, or vice versa, is available,...
